Here is my Client Referral list, Guys. Looking forward to discovering more resources from all of you!
WEBSITES - two of the better general health information sites I've found on the internet:
Mayoclinic.org
Webmd.com/fitness
BOOKS: two of my very favorites because of their simplicity and ease in incorporating advice.
"Don't Sweat the Small Stuff: Simple Ways to Keep the Little Things From Taking Over Your Life", by Richard Carleson. Part of a Series.
"Awake at Work: 35 Practical Buddhist Principals for Discovering Clarity and Balance in the Midst of Work's Chaos", by Michael Carroll.
HUMANE RESOURCE: Josh Moore, Personal Trainer and Nutritional Counselor at The Pyramid. A few sessions with Josh will give you the groundwork for a life of fitness. 120 Merchants Row, Rutland, Vt. 802-775-8080 Joshmoore@pyramidvt.com
In doing this process I thought of my family and friends that are not aware of the idea of healthy lifestyle choices. Like not being aware that when they do what they do every day with out thinking about it they are making choices that affect their health, that very basic, ah-ha, level of awareness. So that brought me to the following pieces that could entice and encourage these folks at a very hands on basic level.
1. http://longevitycalculator.aarp.org/ I picked this website because it asks questions about daily life style choices and calculates your biological age compared to your chronological age. Sort of an eye opener, or an ah-ha!
2. www.nationalwellness.org/testwell/part1bnew.asp I picked this website because it also asks questions, but gets one thinking more on a holistic level. And gives a chart report which is readying them to realize that health is more than "the doctors and your body", it's your environment and how you live in it.
3. Pyramid Total Fitness: Physical Fitness I like this paper because it brings the first two choices together and starts to have the person do exercises towards becoming aware of their physical fitness and its impact on their health. And they begin to think and write about themselves.
4. www.physicalfitnessarticles.net/article/ the-powerful-sound-of-silence/73156 I found this (ad fueled) website/page useful because it encouraged folks to be quiet. Just a personal thing for me, I am always seeking peace and quiet and feeling to overstimulated. I believe others maybe, but just don't know it is possible. This also quiets them to begin their inward journey to impact their physcial health. I also liked the many other articles that could be accessed through this one page. Short and insightful for those beginning the process, yet ad infested.
5. www.fullfitness.net This website will help those just getting acquainted with physical fitness begin to experiment with many different kinds of exercies.

Write a brief but thorough assessment of your current level of health-related and skill-related physical fitness. What areas do you need to improve as you develop your massage practice? Has your physical fitness level changed over time? If so, how?
I used to work out 5 + days a week from age 14 through around 17. When I started drinking working out didn’t happen so much from the fatigue and sickness in the morning. I allowed personal relationships with men, as well as my family to upset me. Things piled on between school, work, apprenticeships, constant moving from one place to another as well. There seemed to be no time to regularly work out. It is going on 3 years since I have not been in a regular schedule and workout plan. Depression and anxiety sometimes consume my thoughts to where I don’t want to leave bed. Thankful over the past year I have completely quit smoking and drinking. I started randomly picking up dance and fitness classes through different Rutland facilities. I am making better choices with my health but could always improve. I can improve by not letting emotions get the best of me. Start regularly seeing a counselor again. Exercising every day, and making healthy diet choices. I need to do cardio, strength training much more.
This is not so much about physical fitness per say but there is a weight loss section. This is a website I use a lot because it addresses hormonal balance, diet and many challenges women face as our bodies change. I just think it’s really good so I stuck it in here
http://www.livestrong.com/
Good site for both men and women. Health, fitness, lifestyle with a section for both men and women

If you're looking for motivation to work out, try posting these top ten benefits of physical fitness training on your fridge, next to your computer-anywhere you might typically look during lazy time. Fitness training does more than make you look buff; it can improve your life in more ways than you may know.
Healthier cardiovascular system Fitness training, especially cardio exercise such as jogging, swimming, biking and cross-country skiing, will build a strong heart-lung-vascular system. By strengthening your cardio-vascular system, you combat the number one killer in America: heart disease.
Improved weight control When you invest in fitness training, you invest in a better BMI and weight. Exercise burns calories and helps you control your weight more effectively.
Lower blood pressure and cholesterol When you exercise, you are making an investment in lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol.
Better mood Fitness training translates to a cheerier outlook. Just 30 minutes of speed-walking a day can act like a mild anti-depressant.
Toned muscles Fitness training tones your muscles, and toned muscles are more appealing to look at than flabby muscles. You'll also find you can do more once you've invested in strength training, and we all feel better when we know we're stronger.
Higher metabolism Muscles burn more calories than fat, so it's worth it to tone up those muscles and build up your muscle mass. This extra calorie burning is not limited to the duration of exercise. Muscles burn more calories even during rest periods, making your body a more efficient calorie-burning machine.
Higher self esteem When you are stronger, healthier and more fit, you'll also feel better about yourself as a person, especially if you've seen an improvement in your physical appearance. Investment in fitness training is therefore an investment in your self-image.
Sleep more soundly Physical exercise releases tension and allows your body to relax more fully, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. When you are more rested, you enjoy life more and can make better choices.
Better sex Fitness training leads to greater endurance, physical stamina and self-confidence, all of which pays off big time in the bedroom. Sex is a physical activity, so any improvement in your physical fitness will result in more finesse in bed.
Live longer Fitness training acts as an anti-aging agent. Exercise combats the effects of stress, poor eating habits, illness and many serious health issues. In particular, exercise acts as a deterrent for heart disease, diabetes and cancer. When you choose to exercise, you are choosing to prolong your life expectancy. My current level of health and skill-related physical fitness levels are not what they used to be. I was involved in dance classes of tap, jazz, and ballet (pointe) for 12 years and both cross country running and skiing for 4 years. Since graduating high school I have not found the same amount of time nor energy to full fill the same work out regiment. Although I felt great and had an abundance of energy at the time, it has now been 3 years since I have not had a rigorous fitness plan under my belt. I do, on the other hand try to practice yoga daily for at least 15-30 minutes (if possible) and hope to begin my Bikram yoga practice again (yoga practice in a heated room of about 110 degrees). Other than that, I try and walk as many places as I possibly can and go on hikes when I have the free time.
personally, you-tube is my best friend for fitness questions. there are numbers of personal trainers posting helpful videos about fitness / fitness routines, its easy to stay motivated and the best part...It's FREE! 1. https://www.youtube.com/user/SarahsFabChannel 2. https://www.youtube.com/user/brettcap 3. https://www.youtube.com/user/blogilates 4. https://www.youtube.com/user/ToneItUpcom 5. http://toneitup.com/nutrition-programs/
My current level of fitness isn't exactly where i would like to be, unfortunately its not easy to find the time to exercise the way that i used to. I was a softball player when i was younger and always outdoors doing something even if it was brook fishing. now that i'm in college i don't have the luxury of doing that as often as i need or like. although when i do find the time i like to have a rigorous workout, i love the blast of energy and feel great afterwards! over the summer i had a great time with fitness, I ran four miles everyday followed by an hour workout (alternating muscle groups daily) and made sure to drink half my body weight in ounces of water (so, 160 lbs / 2 = 80 oz of water to drink) plus an additional 8 oz for every half hour that i was sweating-everyday. I've never felt so good in my life.

Write a brief but thorough assessment of your current level of health-related and skill-related physical fitness. What areas do you need to improve as you develop your massage practice? Has your physical fitness level changed over time? If so, how?
DeleteI used to work out 5 + days a week from age 14 through around 17.

Top Ten Benefits of Physical Fitness
By: Rachel Mork
If you're looking for motivation to work out, try posting these top ten benefits of physical fitness training on your fridge, next to your computer-anywhere you might typically look during lazy time. Fitness training does more than make you look buff; it can improve your life in more ways than you may know.
Healthier cardiovascular system
Fitness training, especially cardio exercise such as jogging, swimming, biking and cross-country skiing, will build a strong heart-lung-vascular system. By strengthening your cardio-vascular system, you combat the number one killer in America: heart disease.
Improved weight control
When you invest in fitness training, you invest in a better BMI and weight. Exercise burns calories and helps you control your weight more effectively.
Lower blood pressure and cholesterol
When you exercise, you are making an investment in lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol.
Better mood
Fitness training translates to a cheerier outlook. Just 30 minutes of speed-walking a day can act like a mild anti-depressant.
Toned muscles
Fitness training tones your muscles, and toned muscles are more appealing to look at than flabby muscles. You'll also find you can do more once you've invested in strength training, and we all feel better when we know we're stronger.
Higher metabolism
Muscles burn more calories than fat, so it's worth it to tone up those muscles and build up your muscle mass. This extra calorie burning is not limited to the duration of exercise. Muscles burn more calories even during rest periods, making your body a more efficient calorie-burning machine.
Higher self esteem
When you are stronger, healthier and more fit, you'll also feel better about yourself as a person, especially if you've seen an improvement in your physical appearance. Investment in fitness training is therefore an investment in your self-image.
Sleep more soundly
Physical exercise releases tension and allows your body to relax more fully, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. When you are more rested, you enjoy life more and can make better choices.
Better sex
Fitness training leads to greater endurance, physical stamina and self-confidence, all of which pays off big time in the bedroom. Sex is a physical activity, so any improvement in your physical fitness will result in more finesse in bed.
Live longer
Fitness training acts as an anti-aging agent.

Healthfinder.gov is a great place to start if you want to get some basic advice about what to eat and what kind of activity to do for healthy living.
